 What is Ghostscript?

Ghostscript is computer software that interprets PDF and the PostScript language. When installed on a computer, it can be used by products such as PhotoScore to convert PDF files to bitmaps so that they may be processed further.

Versions entitled GPL Ghostscript are distributed with the GNU General Public License, which allows free use, and free copying and redistribution under certain conditions (including, in some cases, commercial distribution)*.
